Lisa Lindahl is an American entrepreneur and inventor, best known as the creator of the first sports bra, which she developed in 1977 with the help of her costume designer friend Polly Smith. Before the sports bra, women had to wear uncomfortable and unsupportive undergarments while exercising, which led to discomfort and even injury. The pair used two jockstraps and some sewing skills to create the first prototype of a bra that was specifically designed for athletic activities. They named it the "Jogbra," and it quickly gained popularity among women who were looking for more comfortable and supportive undergarments while working out. Lindahl later founded the company "Jogbra, Inc." with her sister Victoria, and they started mass-producing sports bras for women across the globe. Today, sports bras are a fundamental piece of women's athletic apparel, and Lisa Lindahl is recognized as a pioneer in the fitness industry.
